Ph.D. scholarhips in Italian Studies at the University of St Andrews (UK)

The Italian Department at the University of St Andrews is very pleased to offer a fees-only PhD scholarship in Italian Studies for students from the UK/EU, starting in September 2017.

The School of Modern Languages in St Andrews is home to a lively international postgraduate community. Around 50 students from all over the world are currently reading for taught or postgraduate degrees in an exceptional variety of areas, including Arabic, French, German, Italian, Russian, Central and Eastern European Studies, Spanish and Latin American Studies, Comparative Literature, as well as Language and Linguistics, Medieval Studies and Cultural Identity Studies. The Italian Department is the largest in Scotland and one of the main centres for the study of Italian in the UK.

Members of the Department have high international research profiles that range from Mediaeval culture through the Renaissance to modern literature, film and cultural studies. Admission to pursue research study is normally granted on the basis of a good Masters Degree which must be related to your area of research.
