POSTDOC POSITION in the field of Italian Linguistics

Description:

The post-doc fellow will participate to the new project carried out at the Institute of Romance Languages and Literatures, Faculty of Arts in Brno. The post-doc fellow will join an international team, composed by two senior researchers in romance linguistics (French and Spanish), two associate professors (also in Romance linguistics) and one Ph.D. students in Italian linguistics. He/she will be dealing with the text analysis, respectively discourse analysis, conversation analysis and textual semantics, diachronic linguistics and lexicography. The main result of this project will be an international symposium dedicated to position of Romance languages in the globalized world and a collective monograph, followed by a series of articles published in peer-reviewed international journals.

The post-doc fellow will be in charge of a significant part of the final monograph and will be the author of at least four articles. Finally, he/she will co-organize seminars of researchers and Ph.D. students at the Department.

The successful candidate should:

  • be a researcher who has received a PhD or its equivalent within the last 7 years (on the date
    of employment commencing)
  • be a researcher who has worked at least two whole years in the last three years outside the territory
    of the Czech Republic in the field of research with a working time of at least 0.5 full-time equivalent, or who has been a PhD student (or equivalent) abroad
  • have a publishing record – in the last three years at least two publication outputs registered in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS databases and at the same time publications such as “articles”, “books”, “book chapters”, “letters” and “reviews”
  • have experience in the field of editing scientific texts in Italian and English 
  • have experience with research projects (an advantage)
  • have excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams
